Sustainability Consultant
The Role
Join a dynamic team of brand and sustainability strategists, storytellers, creatives, and client relationship experts committed to helping businesses deliver positive impact. As a Sustainability Consultant with SR, you fuse technical advisory on environmental, social and governance best practices with compelling communications expertise to create shared value for our clients—primarily large multinational businesses with substantial Asian footprints.
- From defining the scope of a project to undertaking research, stakeholder engagement and materiality assessments, you’ll interpret insights to define sustainability strategies and deliver inspiring communications that build belief in the future.
- At times there will be a strong focus on report advisory and writing in this role, and you’ll have the passion to ensure that our work meets and exceeds reporting standards, raters’ expectations and international best practices.
- As a mid-level member of a rapidly growing sustainability practice, you’ll play a key role in expanding SR’s consultancy services in Singapore. Leveraging your existing network and identifying new opportunities, you will ideate and drive business development activities in close collaboration with SR’s Directors.
Responsibilities
- Deliver SR’s full suite of sustainability services — from sustainability audits against best practice, peer benchmarking, stakeholder engagement and materiality assessments, to developing branded sustainability strategies with effective pillars, goals and targets, to supporting clients with sustainability data collection and developing sustainability reports that meet the expectations of regulators, ratings agencies and key stakeholders.
- Advise clients on sustainability/ESG frameworks (e.g., from SGX, GRI, ISSB, SASB, TCFD and TNFD) and ratings (e.g., from MSCI, Sustainalytics and DJSI)
- Leverage your technical understanding of sustainability topics and communications best practices to produce work and strategic advice that helps clients create shared value while avoiding risks of greenwashing.
- Work with clients and SR’s consultants to define the brief: the scope of the project, including research methodologies.
- Lead primary research assignments covering desk research, stakeholder interviews, focus groups and surveys.
- Analyse and turn environmental, social and governance data and research insights into strategic recommendations.
- Contribute to advising and engaging senior managers at SR’s clients to understand, embed and leverage sustainability, including guiding them through various sustainability frameworks and stakeholder expectations on key topics.
- Contribute to SR’s business planning, client proposal development and the evolution and growth of the sustainability practice in Singapore.
- Influence the refinement of integrated brand and sustainability methodologies and build capacity across the Group as SR’s sustainability practice continues to grow.
- Direct client-facing meetings and workshops with both a level of insight and inquisitiveness to offer strategic recommendations with conviction.
- Remain passionate about corporate sustainability, with a demonstrable interest to follow the advancement of corporate sustainability issues and industry trends in Singapore and Southeast Asia more broadly.
About You
SR builds belief in the future by making sustainability emotive, actionable and measurable; we look forward to seeing these same characteristics in your work.
