Creative Campaign for Social Impact in Vietnam

Operation Smile is a global organisation established since 1989 that delivers safe surgery where it is needed most, giving children hope through exceptional surgical care in treating cleft lip and cleft palate conditions.

Challenge

Sedgwick Richardson was engaged to help strengthen stakeholder communication content, enhance activation campaigns and support fund-raising initiatives. The challenge lay in conveying Operation Smile’s mission into emotionally powerful communications that would drive both awareness and donations.

 

Solution

Measuring Value
Our journey began by quantifying and communicating the shared value that Operation Smile delivers across eight stakeholder groups through data visualisation. An activation framework was developed to help educating and spreading the cause to the wider community.

Social Mileage
To help Operation Smile broaden its reach, a strategic social media approach was created to enhance engagement with the various stakeholder groups of OSVN.

Raising Funds for 30 New Smiles
Joining Operation Smile’s Lunar New Year fund raising activity, we designed a series of Lucky Packet Designs which helped raise funds for 30 new smiles.

 

Outcomes

The Lucky Packet campaign successfully funded for 30 new smiles through the sale of 20,000 envelopes. Operation Smile’s social media organic page likes saw a 26% increase, whils post engagement more than doubled.
